I moved to a new neighborhood about a year ago and many of the local cafés and small shops are run by Spanish-speaking families. At first I only knew a couple of basic words like hola and gracias, but after hearing conversations every day I got curious about what people were actually saying. I tried learning through a few language apps, but I kept running into the same issue: lots of vocabulary but not much guidance on how to actually use it in real situations. That’s why I eventually switched to something a bit more structured where lessons follow a clear path. The platform I’ve been using lately is the one you can see more about there. What I personally like is that the lessons are organized into practical topics instead of just random word lists. One session might focus on introducing yourself, another on asking simple questions or ordering food. It feels closer to the way people actually speak.
