Support TMC

At Tathagata Meditation Center, we are deeply grateful for the dāna, or generosity of heart, that sustains our work and enables us to share the teachings of the Buddha. Through the loving support of our donors, the center continues to flourish and offer a refuge for spiritual growth.

May the virtues of your generous actions bring you prosperity, good health, and the conditions that support your continued growth in wisdom, guiding you towards greater peace and enlightenment.

Our Programs

TMC General Fund

TMC is entirely run by volunteers, and our financial support comes from the generosity of those who value our work. We are deeply grateful for this support and are inspired by how Dharma practice flourishes in an environment of generosity and gratitude. This fund helps cover our monthly costs, including utilities, maintenance, garden services, retreat cleaning, and monthly pledges.

Dhamma Scholarship Program at Panditarama

In the effort to support the late Sayadawgyi U Pandita with his Dhamma mission, Tathagata Meditation Center is honored to sponsor the following programs at Panditarama: 1. Dhamma Scholarship: Each year, monks throughout Burma are invited to practice meditation at Panditarama. This scholarship enables them to participate by providing all necessities. 2. Studying Novices & Nuns: There are many novices and nuns staying at Panditarama to study for the Dhammacariya certificate. Upon their graduation they will help teach others about the Dhamma. This scholarship provides books and other essentials during their stay at Panditarama. 3. Summer Course for New Novices and Nuns: The purpose of this summer course is to nurture and raise a new generation for the Śāsana. During this course, students ordain as novices and nuns and train in Buddhist traditions from both practical and theoretical aspects. Each year about 500 students participate in this course at the Panditarama Forest Center. 4. Sangha Health Fund: The objective of this fund to provide necessary health care for the Sangha at Panditarama. This fund is typically used to purchase medicine, pay for hospital costs and other medical expenses for the Sangha.

The Free Dhamma Book Distribution Program

This program was created to carry out the promulgation of the original teachings of the Buddha as stated in the Tathāgata Meditation Center’s (TMC’s) Mission. It offers a vast collection of Buddhist books ranging from beginner to advanced levels in both theoretical and practical aspects. All the books are available for free distribution. This initiative stems from a deep commitment to sharing the Dhamma and providing practical and beneficial resources for retreatants and lay practitioners alike. The history of this collection reflects a careful and dedicated process. When TMC identifies an invaluable topic, a book, a discourse or a sermon (sutta), Mr. Luyen Pham (TMC’s chairman and general editor) collaborates with U Hla Myint (resident Pali scholar who trained as a monk) to elaborate, refine or clarify the content for better understanding, and then publish it in book format. For instance, several small pamphlets and short articles by the esteemed Venerable U Janaka Bhivamsa (Chanmyay Sayadaw) were compiled to create the now widely appreciated “The Progress of Insight Meditation” book. Recognizing its value, many Vietnamese readers requested a Vietnamese version and Mr. Luyen Pham translated it. It usually takes about a year to produce a book. This approach has led to the development of many such valuable pairings, such as “Fundamentals of Buddhism,” “Dependent Origination,” “Well-Informed Buddhist,” “Fundamentals of Vipassana Meditation,” and “Manual of Abhidhamma Explained.” Each book is crafted and curated to ensure it meets the needs of those seeking deeper understanding of the Buddha's teachings. We are honored to share these resources to support the growth of wisdom as stated in our mission. All the books published by TMC are included in the “Books Published by Tathāgata Meditation Center” listing. Interested readers can request them by filling out the request form and mailing it to us. We will try our best to mail them free of charge within the United States as soon as we can.
