I've been dabbling in a few CS2 skin sites that offer daily free cases, but I'm beginning to wonder if I'm just wasting my time. It's only a few minutes out of my day, but, like, what are the actual odds of getting something decent? I mostly end up with skins worth less than the virtual dust they're sitting on. Am I better off just saving that time and putting it towards something more productive, or is there some strategy I'm missing here? I’d love to hear other people’s experiences, if you've got any.

Honestly, the daily free cases are hit or miss; it really depends on the site. I’ve had some luck with skin.club in the past, getting maybe one or two skins that were actually worth something out of the hundreds I opened. I would say the main benefit is it lets you try out the site and see how it works without investing any money. Think of the small-value drops as a gradual way to build up some credit to open better cases, and also don't expect to get a knife or something super rare every single time. If you enjoy the process, then it is time well spent, even if the inventory is on the lower side.
