Sayagyi Daw Vimalanani, born Ramita Shakya in 1972 in Patan, Nepal, is a renowned meditation teacher and dedicated practitioner of Buddhism. She began her spiritual journey at eleven, studying under Venerable Sayagyi Daw Uppalavanna and later met Venerable Sayadawgyi U Pandita in 1990, deepening her practice through a month-long retreat at the International Buddhist Meditation Center (IBMC) in Kathmandu.

In 1991, she ordained as a nun in Burma under Sayadawgyi U Pandita, excelling in Buddhist scripture studies and meditation. She earned top honors in Pali examinations and achieved the Sasana-Hitakari Dhammacariya degree in 1998. After seventeen years at Panditarama Meditation Center, she began teaching and translating Pali texts.

Since 2006, she has conducted Vipassana retreats in countries including the United States, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, China, Indonesia, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, France, Slovakia, and Nepal. Currently residing at IBMC, Sayagyi Daw Vimalanani continues to inspire others, translating significant texts into Nepali and spreading the teachings of Buddhism.
