Memorial Ceremony for Beelin Sayadaw

Dear Devotees,

We are saddened to inform you that our beloved Beelin Sayadaw passed away on June 18, 2025. We have learned that Panditarama will hold a cremation ceremony for Sayadaw on Jun 24 at Panditarama Hse Mine Gon Forest Center.

​

As you know, Beelin Sayadaw was the former abbot of Tathāgata Meditation Center (TMC). In December 1999, Sayadaw U Panditabhivamsa appointed him as the new abbot of TMC. He served in this role until May 2011. Under his guidance, TMC grew significantly and experienced the most notable expansion in its history. His presence during his twelve-year leadership greatly contributed to the spread of the Dhamma in another part of the world.

At Tathāgata Meditation Center, we plan to hold a memorial ceremony for Sayadaw on June 30, 2025, at 1:00 PM, immediately after the conclusion of the current 30-day June retreat. All are warmly invited to join us in expressing our love, respect, and appreciation for Beelin Sayadaw, our virtuous and revered teacher.
