Dear Devotees,

We would like to invite you to the Vassa Robe-offering Ceremony on Sunday July 6, 2025 at the Tathāgata Meditation Center. Every year, Tathāgata Meditation Center (TMC) organizes the Vassa Ceremony for devotees to support the Sangha by offering four requisites and to accumulate merits for themselves.

As you know, during the yearly Vassa, the Sangha retreats to their monasteries to perfect their precepts and further their spiritual training through meditation practice for at least three months. This tradition was taught by the Buddha and it has been faithfully and continuously followed by his disciples until today. The offering of four requisites to the Sangha just before their Vassa brings immeasurable merits for the donors since they provide the means to help the Sangha best sustain and prolong the Buddha’s noble teachings.

The ceremony program is as follows:

10:30 A.M.: Arrival of devotees

11:00 A.M.: Potluck lunch

12:30 P.M.: Vassa Ceremony

3:00 P.M.: Adjournment

Coming to the Vassa ceremony, devotees will have the opportunity to take the five precepts, be blessed with chantings from the Sangha, listen to Dhamma talk, offer robes and other requisites to the Sangha, and share merits to all beings.

We hope many devotees will be able to participate in the Vassa ceremony, and we look forward to welcoming you at the center. May you be well, happy and peaceful!
